GERD and mid back pain

I was diagnosed with mild GERD several years ago. My DR put me on an acid blocker and symptoms got so much worse the pain was amazing. My Naturalpath suggested that I may have not enough acid and to try apple cider vinegar, which helped! The reflux is better, but I still get the middle back pain at times.
But, I work in a setting where I am on my feet 8-12 hrs a day, which my chiro and massage therapist said a combo of that and the fact that I am 5'2", not overweight, and have D breasts contribute heavily to the mid back pain. At times, the pain is so severe, nothing is comfortable; sitting, standing, laying down.
The problem is, I don't know now, which came first, (chicken or egg) the reflux causing the back pain, or the weakened muscles in mid back increasing my GI malfunctions. I feel like one triggers the other and I can never get relief. I do yoga daily which really does help the pain, but nothing ever eliminates it. Is there just something so wrong with my GI system that it causes me that much back pain?
I have had my gall bladder and kidneys checked and all is fine, and no one thinks it a big deal but me.
Am I just stuck with dealing with pain? What else can I do???

Hi there, Maria8

Although GERD does cause mid-back pain, it is normally a pain that comes and goes and often triggered by some foods/drinks.  A constant back-pain is more likely to be posture/nerve constriction/disc degenaration.  You should actually consult an Orthopeadic Surgeon and get an MRI of your spine and take it from there.

Hope the info helps and let us know how you are doing.

Hi...if our core is not strong, we can have all sorts of aches and  pains, my one Dr said posture is also just as important...and to use our muscles correctly...I was told to try Feldenkrais method....I think it may be similar to yoga in the basic concepts, but it very diff in the way u arrive to the positions.

Do take a look and see if this can help u.
