Is Prevacid 30mg enough and does it cause bad headaches and bodyaches?

I have very bad acid reflux, a hiatal hernia, and Sarcoidosis.  Right now, I am taking Prevacid 30mg.  My voice at times is hoarse, so I went to an ENT dr. and he sent me for a test to look into my throat, and I was told that I have swollen vocal cords, and the acid is still backing up.  I took Prilosec OTC but it did not agree with me.  I have rashes on my knees, elbows, back and my neck and back and head hurt,  Is the Prevacid enough and could it be causing all these symptoms?

Thank you for the advice.  I am trying to stay away from the things that I know are not good for me, as the older I get, the more problems I have.  My Gastro Dr. gave me a Prevpak, combination antibiotics and Prevacid together, but there seems to be side effects. I am thinking about going on a fast to rid my body of all the toxins and start again with sensible eating.  You are so right, it's not worth it.

Hi
Head ache is one of the commonly reported side effect of PPIs. Rashes can also occur.
Regarding the relief from symptoms, you need certain life style modifications in addition to taking PPI for complete relief.
.
Life style modifications -
1. Head elevation while sleeping
2. Small frequent meals
3. Going to bed 2- 3 hours after food
4. Avoiding bed time snacks
5. Avoiding smoking and alcohol
6. Avoiding tight fitting clothes
7. Avoiding cola, citrus drinks, carbonated drinks, tea, coffee, spicy food
8. Weight reduction
