Should I go see a doctor?

I self diagnosed myself (not a doctor) with esophagitis ever since I noticed three days ago a burning sensation in my throat, I was having difficulty swallowing and it felt like my upper chest was burning. I looked up the symptoms and traced the cause to be the doxycycline pill I had four days ago before I slept, which I downed without water. I’m worried I will have to get an endoscopy and I would like to solve this without having to get a doctor involved. Is this possible?
