Sinus pressure

I have struggled with various issues for years and recently diagnosed by a local doctor for having LPR.

I have been taking omeprazol now for 4 months. I don't necessarily feel better. Huge pressure on my nose ridge and middle of forehead, getting dizzy, and sometime hard to focus on work, don't feel like to get up even after 10 hours of sleep. what is this pressure and what can i do?

Hi thanks for the update....goodness they have you running in circles huh?

I did read your post in the sinus forum...and my question to you is this, have they considered you just over produce histamine? I ask bcuz I do and since I was switch from a PPI to a H2b and taking an antihistamine b4 bed I am doing so much better...I always had PND which can cause reflux....any type.....and all the antibiotics can cause more reflux symptoms to flare....make sure you take a probiotic  to replace all the good bacteria killed off with the antibacterial meds.

Wish I knew more to help you....just know what worked for me. Good luck.

thank you. Now doctors think it is sinus infection and suggest surgery. my gastritis conditions improved after taking omeprazol and food and life style adjustments. but i still feel unwell. i made another post in a sinus forum. any further comments are appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

Talk with your  Dr...many with LPR can have issues of over producing histamines...which can cause us to have post nasal drip which in turn causes reflux....if this is the case a PPI may not be the best med....you may need a H2b.....

It can be allergy related but does not always mean it is...some of us have other medical issues which can cause this over production of histamines and the pressure is there ...

Push for more testing....and look to or back to see if this is the first you noticed this or how long you may have felt this way and keep a journal....this may help your Dr figure out what is going on and the best course of treatment for you. Keep us posted on what you find out.
