Swollen Lymph Nodes With LPR

Two weeks fter a sexualt encounter, I developed a sore throat and swollen submandibular lymph nodes.  After all tests came back negative, the sore throat and swollen submandibular lymph nodes have lasted for almost 1.5 years.  After multiple doctors visits, I have been diagnosed with LPR.  The ENT put me on Nexium ??mg twice per day.  I have been taking the Nexium for about a month now.  I have a couple of questions.  Are swollen submandibular lymph nodes a common symptom of LPR?  I have only seen in one place where someone says swollen lymph nodes are a symptom of LPR.  The other general information websites do not mention it  Question 2: How long does it take to get better?  I have noticed no change in my sore throat or the swollen lymph nodes.  Should I give it time or is the medicine not working?

You're doing the right thing by going to an ENT doctor. I went and he took a look down into my throat and said it was very irritated. I too felt like my tongue and throat was on fire and felt like I was breathing menthol. I told the nurse at my primary doctors about breathing menthol and all she did was laugh at me. I am betting you need the Omeprazole dosage upped. I was taking 40 mg. a day and they upped it to 40 mg. 2x a day.

Greeetings, LPR does not presents with symptoms in many ocations unless trigger by an episode of forcefull use of voice like being in a kariokee for example.
The symptom improvement should fall iwith in 3 month period. The recommended treatment is 90 days use of an antiacid of the PPI class, ( Proton Pump Inhibitors ), like Omeprazole, ( Prilosec ), or Pantoprazole, ( Protonix ) for example, at low dose but TWICE a day BEFORE meals. Zantac, ( Ranitidine ) or otherantiacids of its class, ( H2 Blocker ), wont work well in the case of LPR.
It is of extreme importance to visit an ENT speciallist to evaluate your throat, specially your vocal cords.
As a general antirreflux meassure, avoid eating 3 hours before bedtime, take your antiacids BEFORE the meals, avoid tight belts cloathing in the waist, avoid constipation, and follow an low irritant diet.

I went to the er on Christmas as i was having shortness of breath.  3 times they tied to tell me it was panic attacks.  I finally demanded it was reflux when i was having a feeling like my tongue was burnt and i was breathing menthol.  They agreed and put me on 20mg omeprazole.  It worked for two weeks then i started burping hundreds of times a day and getting had trapped near my diaphragm.  They upped my dose to 40mg and said come back in a year!!  I've also had a lump in my submandibular on the left side for the past 3 months.  My primary said to stop touching it and come back if it gets later or hurts.  I went to another dr the other day as i was having pain in my check, i also have tmj, but i wanted to see if it was related to the gland.  He said it is the lymph node but considers "normal".  I am going to request as appointment with an ent soon as i am still burping and having a slight sore throat even though i have cut out caffeine, coffee, chocolate, fat, etc.  I don't smoke, drink, nor am i overweight.  Mine started after i got my first menstrual after having twins.  I'm thinking it's either hormonal or i developed a hiatal hernia during my pregnancy....
