Vasomotor Rhinitis and GERD

Hello today the doctor told me I had Vasomotor Rhinitis and GERD. A few websites say they go hand in hand  is this true?

  If u have inflammation in ur nasal passages it may be possible for it to feel like that with out being blocked up...
With PND it drains right down the back of the throat and sometimes u can not even be aware u have it....so yes, the nose does not need to be blocked to have it.
The steroid is most likely for inflammation....

Hellos thank you for commenting back. Can you have PND without having a blocked nose? I just feel pressure on my nose as if something is pressing on my face even when it isn't blocked. Does that sound right ? I was giving a steroid spray baconase.

  Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

It is possible for this to be the case, not being a medical professional I can tell u what I do know I have PND (post nasal drip) and when u have an excess like that and it drains into ur stomach it will cause an issue....irritate the stomach lining....with the condition like Vasomotor Rhinitis I am sure u will have similar issues to PND...regardless of what causes them....the outcome is the same.....

I am sure ur Dr offered something to help control the rhinitis...like an anti histamine,,...once that is under control ur GERD may just need meds short term...but do also follow a modified diet  and lifestyle to help prevent it from flaring.
