burning sensation in deep throat

Hi sir, I sometimes face this problem of burning sensation in my deep throat(between throat and chest). It sustains for more than 3 days and sometimes up to a week. If I take water it suddenly disappears and after some time it starts burning again. I smoke at least 5 cigarettes a day. Is it due to the improper eating habits? or Is it due to excessive smoking. Please help me in finding the cause for this.

Sir, thanks for your prompt reply. Is this also related to not having motions properly or regularly?
