can esophageal spasm cause jaw pain?

I woke up with esophageal squeezing felt it inside my chest and radiating to jaw, i thought it's variant angina my doctor says it's from GERD but i don't feel the heartburn with the squeezing, i'm a runner with good health and 21, could it be variant angina?

I had episodes where I felt like I couldn't breathe.....MD tried several meds (for heart, for lungs....) which did nothing......changed MD and immediately the new MD had me try a valium.  He said it was like my esophagus was cramping and it just needed to relax.  He was 100% correct.  Only had this happen a few times per year and one valium solved the problem each time.  Don't know if this helps you at all, but it might.  Good luck on your search to good health.
