I had a Manometry done 5 weeks ago.  They will spray something in your throat and nose and before you know it they poke the pipe in your nose and then you have to start swallowing to get the pipe in your esophagus.  You will then lay on your side and the procedure continues.

It takes about 30 minutes and afterwards your voice will be horse or almost "gone" for about an hour.

You have to prepare yourself that it is not a very comfortable procedure, but it is important to get this done.
