tight throat

Quick history:  I had my C5-6 fused with disc removed.  I have Lupus (SLE) and Fibromyalgia.  But, my recent MRI showed that my C4-5 was slightly pushing out toward my right shoulder and not toward my spine.
The question is.....I have had a tight feeling right at the indent of my throat.  At the top of my collar bone.  I have had swelling, off and on right above my collar bone for years.  It comes and goes.  I thought it was the swelling that made me feel the tight feeling in my throat.  I feel like someone is pushing a thumb in my throat.  I have no hoarseness, no fever, no problem talking or singing.  I don't think I have reflux (which the tight throat is a symptom of).  I don't know what it could be.  It's very irritating.   I had my first MRI when I told my Rheumatologist about my swelling above my collar bone.  That's when they found my C5-6 was protruding about 40% into my spine.  But I had no symptoms.  Now, even though a Neurosurgeon said the C4-5 WASN'T pushing on my spine, I'm worried.  Can anyone help?

Hi jlmdsm,

To know whether there is really anything obstruction inside, -  you can undergo endoscopy.
GERD can be confirmed only with a 24 hours pH monitoring test.

Regarding the swelling that comes and goes above the collar bone, lymph node swelling is the commonest cause. But that be confirmed only after  examining you in person.

No, it's not.  That's what has me puzzled.  I sometimes feel like it must be closing my throat up, but I can take a deep breath and not have any restriction in my airway that stops me from getting a deep breath.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi jlmdsm,
I would like to know whether it is causing symptoms like difficulty in swallowing or difficulty in breathing.

I can give my opinion based on that.
