Gallbladder and/or IBS

Okay, so I'm a 20 year old female and have been having digestive issues since about August 2016.... it started with slight nausea and diarrhea. My doctor assumed it was ibs and possible intolerence to gluten.. so I began doing an elimination diet (GAPS diet) and it worked great for about 3/4 months. And then suddenly one day I stopped digesting meat/protein, and then it went from that to abdominal pain in the upper right side of my stomach and lower belly button area and then I stopped being able to digest anything except bananas pretty much.... I went to the ER and my results were high bilirubin so they did a sonogram and it showed sludge in my gallbladder.. so now I know what's causing my pain and such... my only question is, did I ever even have ibs to begin with? Or has it been gallbladder this whole time? I know that a doctor can only tell me but I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar situation.

I would also like to add that the stools have been loose and lighter in color on and off since august as well.
