Itching two weeks after gallbladder removal

Why do I have itching after gallbladder removal? It started two weeks after my surgery on 08/17/15. It started out with itching (no rash) on my feet, palms and all over my body. Two days later I started having rashes where ever I scratched. I was given benedryl, steroids, and Pepcid and it seemed to be working.. Then it all came back! I been feeling tingling feeling on my tongue, itching on my head like if I had lice! Now I even get a tingling sensation on my feet and hands when I get out of bed and it turns in to itch. Had blood test done and it came back fine. Not sure what is causing all this. Dr said it may be a bile leak but here I am 2 weeks later and he has not gave me my appt for any test!

Are you taking pain meds with codine? They make me itch terribly!

Has your doctor discussed any further testing with you? There are new biliary based contrasts that will allow for functional imaging and this maybe able to indicate the leakage site(s), should they be present.

I'm so sorry to hear about this itching! I know how annoying that is! I'm sure it's to do with your liver, doesn't matter what the tests say!
Are you on a very, very low fat diet? No alcohol, coffee or even tea? No milk at all?
If not, please give it a go and you might get better.
All the best,
Ekaterina
