20 month old son with enlarged spleen and liver

My son is 20 months old and has had recent bouts with screaming and I am unable to console him.  He is doubling up trying to get comfortable.  I went to his pediatrician and they ran a blood test and performed and ultrasound.  The only thing that came back were that his spleen and liver are slightly enlarged. My pediatrician said to wait and see for about a week or so, but I am scared.  I have absolutely no idea what this could be and my pediatrician isn't giving me much to go by.
Should I go with my gut and follow up with a GI doc specializing in these areas or should I wait and see since his CBC came back normal?

I followed up with my GI doctor for my son and she said it may have been a virus.  However, they are now testing for food allergies which can sometimes cause this to happen too.

Momkate, I'd follow up with a GI person. Spending a bit more money is a small price to pay to try to get some answers. And if it puts your mind at ease, it's worth it.

CBC is not the only blood work that should have been done. If that's all your doc did, then I'd certainly check with another doc.
