8 years of bad gastritis issues. Help please?

I am a 29/F and have had stomach issues since I was 21 years old. I was diagnosed with Gastritis after an endoscopy and they put me on a PPI. I tried a few different ones and none seemed to help except Dexilant after 8 months of use. The symptoms I have are extreme nausea almost daily, stomach pain, acid feeling, bloating, gas, a bubble that appears in my stomach below my sternum, scratchy throat. This happens after i consume anything that is acidic, chocolate, alcohol, mint, fruits, anything but water to drink, sugary foods, fried foods. I basically have felt nauseous all the time for the last 8 years. I'm currently on 40mg of Nexium because my health insurance now doesn't give me Dexilant. Even though the Nexium helps a little, i still can't eat or drink anything that really has flavor without feeling miserable.

I got a second endoscopy last year and they said I don't have gastritis anymore and that I have "dyspepsia" which is a fancy word for upset stomach. How can this be? I still feel exactly as bad as I did before. I feel like I have something wrong with me the doctors can't figure out and they won't take the time to. I constantly get dismissed by them after they throw PPI's at me. I just want to feel normal again and be able to enjoy things in life like eating good food and having a drink once in a while. I'm also really worried about taking a PPI for 8 years straight and dealing with those side effects. I would love to come off of them. Does anyone know what might be wrong with me or a way to feel okay without medication?

It does not matter wetter one has low stomach acid or too much, as even a minute amount of stomach acid will cause symptoms if you had gastritis.
Which leads to the hypothesis, that the PPI could have been the wrong therapy-if you can call a single prescription PPI drug, therapy.
The fact is that most people have low stomach acid vs high, yet acid reducing drugs -one of the most profitable classes of drugs in the industry- are prescribed indiscriminately, without ever checking the patients acid levels.
Demulcent herbs, unfortunately, are natural and doctors are not allowed to prescribe them, but they are  rich in mucilage and can soothe and protect irritated or inflamed internal tissue, making them a preferred solution for cases of gastritis. They are also anti-inflammatory!
Probiotics of the highest quality would also help restore your healthy gut flora.
You need to modify your diet in order to heal properly.
Forget about treats and drinks and concentrate 100%
on the task of healing your body, which means, you must adhere to a very strict nutritional protocol!
I would suggest you look into the SCD program, which can
help you get your life back. It may take a few years, though.
It is a shame that doctors allow their patients to stay on PPIs for years, when long-term use is CONTRA-indicated!!!
It can destroy a persons life, because of malabsorption issues leading to serious nutritional and vitamin deficiencies!
One thing you should do is get any such deficiencies ruled out. For B12 ask for an MMA test which will indicate your methylocobalamin B12 (active) and methylfolate levels.
Repeat within a few weeks.
I hope this helps and if you need any more help, let me know.
Best wishes,
Niko
