Adrenalin Rush In the Morning

Every morning I wake up very early (3 to 4 a.m.) with a deep scared feeling in my gut. It feels like excitement and fear at the same time. I think it may be adrenalin and anxiety combined. My doctor has sent me to a specialist who will be testing for an ulcer with an endoscopy procedure. I have to wait a month. I am currently prescribed Xanax 3 times a day at 1mg. and Omeprazole for a suspected ulcer. I feel nauseous and sick every morning. My bowels are always soft and rarely formed. I'm scared and wondering if anyone might have other ideas as to what this could be. Thank you in advance.

Well this is a lot to deal with.  I'm glad you are working with a gastro doctor and the endoscopy will reveal an ulcer.  But what about IBS? That can cause the symptoms you have and is exacerbated by anxiety.  https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/irritable-bowel-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20360016  Do you keep a food diary? I'd start one and look for any triggers or patterns. I do think Xanax is not a great option for long term anxiety care.  It's addictive and leads to other problems.  An SSRI is a better option and they will use those or tricyclic agents for IBS and anxiety.  There are a whole host of medications they use to treat for it.  copy and paste the link and let me know what you think
