Anyone else have lingering health issues after a C. Diff Infection?

Feb. 2008 I had a course of antibiotics for bronchitis and developed diarrhea for 5 days.  I went to the ER and was diagnosed with C. diff and treated with Flagyl.  The infection came back after this course and the course was repeated again.  The infection again returned and I was hospitalized due to severe dehydration and placed on IV Flagyl and given Vancomycin for 3 days and discharged.  I finished the course and the infection returned.  I was placed on Flagyl and referred to a GI doctor who put me on 6 weeks of Xafaxan and put on oral probiotics, which I will be on for life. I was told that I had developed D. diff colitis.

A colonoscopy later showed I have Eosinophilic colitis, which is an allergic type of colitis.  Symptoms are pain, nausea, diarrhea.  Treatment is an elimination diet.  This is due to the c. diff.

Eight months later I was at work and couldn't breathe.  I went to the ER. and later my doctor who diagnosed me with allergies and asthma.  A complication of Eosinophilic colitis.  He put me on Singulair which is supposed to help with the disease.
I was having problems with headaches, tremors, weakness, falling.  Blood tests showed I have hypothyroidism, diagnosed the same month as the Asthma.
Nine months later I had to have my gallbladder removed because it stopped working.

This is not the end of my issues, but I am still working with the doctors to discover what is wrong.  I am scheduled to have an endoscopy next month and some more tests.  I have asked my doctors if C. Diff could have something to do with these health problems and they really think it is a coincidence, but I wonder.....Does anyone else have a story they would like to share?

Hello whisper wolf, I'm a 44 yr old female, in which I thought was quite healthy.... I have had 3 positive results with C-diff. 1x I had to be on 3 dif antibiotics. It all started 6 years ago, I had my gallbladder out, 4 years ago I had a nissen fundoplication surgery for acid reflux disease. Today, I just tested positive for c-diff again and have done some research and found out that there is something called the perfect storm... " stomach surgery, antibiotics and a low immune system" can aid in c-diff. I now feel shortness of breath, pain in my esophagus that feels as if it is spasming, almost like a major heart attack, where I end up in a ball screaming on the floor.... It's horrible. The spasms are happening more often now, which scares me because I drive for a living and they are abrupt when it happens.
Now I have 2 cyst on my ovaries, a lovely UTI and now something is happening to my liver... I'n not an alcoholic, like most people would assume.
I'm wondering if the c-diff has caused all these issues... Just wanted to say hey, I hear ya and let you know your not alone. I actually am feeling better about reading these post, as I feel like my primary and GI Drs. are over me. :)
Have Hope, We got this! Stay Strong.... PS let me know if you have any updates, as I will for you and others.
