Been strugging with bowel movements for 6 years

I am a 23 year old male who has been struggling with my bowel movement for about 6 years now maybe longer. I would say 75% of my movements would be classified by most as diarrhea. I have very wet liquidity movements that are sticky and require a lot of whiping. When I have a "good day of bowel movements" I will have little 1 to 2 inch very small tubes of feces. I generally will release around 50 of these and that will be a "good movement". I don't remember but I am almost positive I have never had a single "log" as my friends say. I generally use the restroom for bowel movements around 6 times a day which i know is a lot, but that is on a normal day. When i am having a bad day i will go more. I have gone to see a gastro, all he did was blood work and gave me a 2 week of supply on pills that were an experiment to see if it would solidify my feces. Lets just say that did not work. He called me back and said I don't have IBS but i am not sure how I don't. I poop more than anyone I know and get mucus filled diarrhea constantly. I know that was a gross posting but I don't know what else to do, I have tried fiber choice tablets and and metamucil. I have realized that fruit does make me go to the bathroom, in fact when I eat grapes I don't digest the shell, comes out in halves. When I eat apples it comes out like the inside of an apple just in little pieces, same with clementines, come out in like the pulp. Anyways I am so tired of having this problem. What should I do took help make my Movements be more solid. Also does anyone know what I should do as far as getting a diagnosis?

Hello there,
Ive been going through the trouble you have. The worst part is that you ll never be able to do any work coz u'll be concerned only about the movements of bowel all the time. You can never concentrate on your work or anything and sooo frustrating it would be.If this is your case then here is the perfect solution.

Alright getting to the point, ive been working on procedures and experimenting every possible way to avoid IBS. Reading such a lot of articles and going through anatomical data, i shall provide few step procedures that will definetly help you and anyone who requires it.
First of all the food you eat matters, and it only matters.
these may look like already known tips, but lets face it none follows it to the end.

First the existing mess in intestine has to be cleared.
so consume a pill to induce diarrhoea for a day(this maybe difficult but necessary). Make sure you drink lot of water to avoid dehydration.
This clears all your colon lining filled with troubling bacteria.

Despite constant advice to keep healthy diet,we fail often.
following part must be hard for most of us.
Meat must be avoided at any cost.Let me tell u why, meat when consumed consumes a larger part of vitamins and other nurtritions for digestion alone.
also it restores the the bacterias that would cause the stool to be fluidic instead of solid )the way it should be).
Also this is the reason why you had to excrete several times a day coz its loose inside. But when it is solid you would be done in once.

Third, as everyone might suggest regular workout is important.Instead of trying gym, you could learn some martial arts which is the perfect art of enhancing metabolism, and by the end of the day you would know how to defend yourself!!!. :)...also yoga would be a perfect choice.

keep this going and you can be relieved of all the problem you are facing.
If u would require some non-veg, fish would be less harmful and useful in someways, but forget about chicken, beaf or pork or any other kind for this sort.

i can promise you,you ll be alright in a week.dont expect overnight remedy and try those useless pills docs would advise u to take.they are just experimentin it on u.
so do this be healthy and happy!!

thank you.

If you are having alot of loose stools with mucus and a very bad odor it could be Clostridium difficile (c-diff) Two of the biggest warning signs or symptoms are loose stools with alot of mucus mixed in and very bad odor. Something to look into anyway...good luck :)

In my opinion, colonics or any other "cleanses" will not do anything.  The effect people get from them are either because the person was constipated or because of the placebo effect (you want it to work so you believe it does).  Another thing, colonics and cleanses can be dangerous as they can easily dehydrate you of water and nutrients especially if you are already having diarrhea.

Also, IBS can be diarrhea or constipation.  You can have IBS-D where you are not constipated, but have diarrhea.  Another thing, people die and have lots of stool in their intestines because as they are dying they are taking lots of pain meds which slows down their digestion causing constipation.

in case you don't get my other message on the mucous in stool - it had to do with using mini colonics with vinegar to clean out.  Otherwise if you have access to a therapist who can give colonics or a place you can do self colonics, I would highly recommend it.  You will feel so much better and the water will re-hydrate your intestines - you just have to keep it up.  good luck and lots of love from someone who has been there.

Hi bfrash.  I just posted a message on tissue in stool but I will respond to you for now.  When doctors say IBS, it generally means - in my terms - constipation in upper bowel so bad that the intestines shrink down and only liquidy fluid (diareah) flows through.  I'm going to assume you have swelling in upper right stomach around liver and gallbladder.  If this is the case, you have to break down the 'hard' stool.  In fact if you get cholesterol checked it will be high since greek term for this is hard stool.  Anyway, it takes a lot of time to get rid of all this stuff in your intestines.  Don't loose faith, but take one organ at a time, start cleansing.  I've been doing it for almost a year and still not there yet; but a heck of a lot better than I was 4 years ago when I was in so much pain I couldn't move from the couch for 2 months.  John Wayne and Elvis Presley died with tons of crystalized stool; something to think about.

I would recommend finding a different gastroenterologist.  The doctor should have had you get more testing done and it sure sounds like IBS to me.

Thanks for the reply. I went to a gastroenterologist and got blood work done. He called and said it was not IBS. I dont know if he checked for parasites or anything like that but thanks for the advice. Ill try cutting out all lactose for two weeks.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  I would recommend getting a referral to a gastroenterologist to be evaluated.  It does sound like IBS to me though.  I would recommend eliminating 100% of all lactose from your diet for 2 weeks to see if that helps.
