Can't burp, Shortness of Breath, Please help

Since the early part of this year I have been having a lot of issues that seems to be stemming from GERD.  I started with having a feeling of something stuck in my throat.  ENT looked with a scope and found nothing.  In March I had a Barium Swallow test that came back stating htat everything was normal but had mild to moderate gastroesophageal reflux.  I had appointments with Cardiologist (heart ultrasound) and Pulmonologist (PFT) and both said that everything looks okay, yet I still have shortness of breath and at times feel like I have to burp but nothing.  When I do burp (and a good one) it relieves the shortness of breath.  I don't know what else it could be but the research that I have been doing on the internet has been getting me scared thinking that I might have esophagus or stomach cancer.  Please help.  I have somewhat of a anxiety over my health and just need to know what else this could be. I would appreciate any medical response as to what this might be?

Thank you

Original poster worriedhypocondriac posted this in 2008 and no longer has an account.

As this is a very old thread I suggest you ask a new question to the forum.

Or better yet you should see your own doctor.

hi, first stop stressing, i think you might have trapped gas in your intestines and its backing up to your stomach, you need to have your lower digestive tract investigated, cheers.
