Blood and Mucus in Stools

Hi,

I'm a 21 y.o. female with many uncomfortable symptoms. I have chronic pain in my upper abdomen, as well as chronic pain in my lower right abdomen. Sometimes it spreads to under my belly button and even to my left side. The pain is almost constant, but it because 10x worse whenever I eat most foods, esp anything with fiber, red meat, pork, or grease. Vegetables make me incredibly sick as well. It starts with shooting and stabbing pains in my abdomen and turns into a throbbing pain on my mid-lower right abdomen. I have chronic loose bowels, but its not always watery diarrhea (average 4 times a day) however, if i have serious flare, it can reach 8 times a day. Recently I've been notices a lot of mucus coming out before I have a bowel movement. Even worse, there are times when the mucus is mixed with a medium red color of blood. The blood has only happened 3 or 4 times. Most of the time its just pain, mucus, and diarrhea. My stomach also makes God awful loud noises about 20 min after I eat. Its loud enough to hear in traffic, over TV's etc. I know sound means somethings is healthy, but these sounds just aren't right. I'm afraid to eat, I'm always tired, my whole body hurts, I wake up with severe night sweats, and I often get sores on the top of my mouth. What could this be? I had a blood test done for something else and everything (except low potassium) came back normal. However, the Dr did say I was extremely dehydrated. I have an apt on Fri for this and I just want to have some ideas before I go in

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I had a colonoscopy today and he said my colon and intestines looked incredible. He's scheduled an upper and lower GI. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm at my breaking point. I'm to the point where i wake up in tremendous amounts of pain, I can't sleep, I can't eat, concentrate, etc. After my procedure, I want out to lunch and probably had the worst attack I've had yet. It lasted a good 5 hours and not even narcotic pain medication took the pain away. I've really really had it. My appointment isn't for 2 weeks. I'm about to explode. I need an answer and I'm not getting one. I've honestly never, ever felt excruciating pain like this in my life, and no one seems to know why.

Hi Rachel, I agree that you need a colonoscopy.  It sounds like an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).  Possibly colitis.  Good luck.

Hello Rachel you need to ask your dr to get you a colonoscopy scheduled. I had one about 6 weeks ago. I had same exact right sided pain as you and even along the belly area like you said, ( i still don't know what is causing that) but I had bleeding for over 2 years and they removed an adenoma polyp, it is a precancerous polyp. They said within 2-4 years it could have turned into colon cancer, Thank GOD I went and got it done. Please keep us informed.
