Constant Bloating after using PPIs

Hello!  In October I had a burning pain under my breast bone and started burping after eating.  Went to urgent care and doctor prescribed me omeprazole.  Took it for two weeks and everything went away.  The week of Thanksgiving the pain started to come back and then I had heartburn that lasted for 4 days.  Back on the omeprazole.  After a week and a half it didn't work so I went to the ER and they prescribed me protonix.  I had an ultrasound of my upper GI and it showed nothing.  Well 4 days after using the protonix I started to have a bloated feeling.  It never went away.  It's mainly just a tight full feeling - not the actual distension but it's constant.  And some times it's in the upper abdomen and sometimes just lower or both.  A tight pressure will also come and go and feel like a brick is sitting on my abdomen.  Is it possible the PPI's lowered my stomach acid too much?  I still also have the crazy burping after eating and drinking.  They tested for h. pylori at the ER and it came back normal.  Also right after the first round of PPI - my hair got really brittle and dry and started coming out more.  I don't know what to do.  I just started taking HCL to see if that is the problem.  Has any one else experienced this?  I stopped all PPIs after the pain went away the day before Christmas so I was only on it for a month.  Thank You!

Change your diet, add probiotics, and maybe even a digestive enzyme.

I have the same thing too! This fullness/tightness in my upper abdomen. Not really sure what it is. I'm on Dexilant now. Prior to this, I was on Pepcid and Zantac. Both didn't help with this feeling.
Sometimes, I feel like a choking sensation in my throat. Just had an upper endoscopy done 2 days ago, my dr. mentioned only mild gastritis.

maybe try pepcid. each acid reducer acts differently. you just have to find the one that works for you.
It sounds to me like the lining of your stomach is damaged (gastritis). And you made the #1 mistake, you started feeling better and stopped taking the meds. More often than not you would be on omerprazole at least a month, just because you start feeling better doesnt mean you are better, it means you are STARTING to heal.
Another thing to do is to not eat or drink things that irritate the stomach. Thigns like dairy, gluten, coffee, tea, tomato, garlic, onions, greasy foods, fatty foods. Avoid these and Im sure you will feel better.
