Indigestion and Beer

Hi,
I have regular bouts of what I assume to be heartburn: discomfort behind the lower half of my sternum.
It only really bothers me with liquids, even a large batch of almond milk smoothie, that I made the other day. Wine gives me a certain amount of discomfort, but beer really gives me trouble. After two or three pints I get quite intense pain, and a need to vomit. It feels like my whole system has backed up, and that my intestine's won't let the contents of my stomach through. If I am able to vomit, it tends to be clear liquid with no food in it.
It occurs to me that drinking beer involves greater volume, so may put a strain on things, though it also occurs to me that beer contains yeast, especially unpasteurised cask ale.
A possible lack of stomach acid has also occurred to me: recently I had an extremely proteinous meal of eggs and salmon, and I still hadn't digested it six hours later.
Any clues as to why drinks should disagree with me like this, and not food?
Thanks.

body changes all the time, so its possible you can be allergic to something now, that you never used to be. You want want to see an allergy specialist who can test you for food allergies.

Thanks. I obviously need to make adjustments, but I'd like to know if there's an underlying cause, as well.

If you have acid reflux or GERD these types of drinks will cause issue. You can try taking nexium once or twice a day and see if it helps. Or just avoid consuming anything causes problems. If alcohol cant be digested, dont drink. Might not be what you want to hear, but it is doable. I have celiac so if I drink beer, most alcohol, eat pizza, bread, or most other things I get really sick, so I havent consumed any of it (on purpose) for more than a decade. Its an adjustment, but you learn to live with it. Better than being sick all the time.
