Diarrhea fo years and no one can help

I had diarrhea for years. Everyday going to bathroom 5 or 6 times seems to be the norm now. I went to lots of doctors but no solution. I had somewhat abnormal liver blood test 6 years ago. But when I repeat the test and did hepatitis panel, everything came back normal. Then 3 years ago I was diagnosed with hypothyoid and PCOS. I am on metformin and synthoid. I went to gastroentologist and he did the stool sample. Everything came back normal. My endoscope came back normal as well. He said it might be the side effect from metformin. But my other doctor disagree. He says since I am on metformin for years now, it shouldn't be the side effect from the medication. Now, I am still having diarrheas and these days I am having a lot of leg cramps at night (it woke me up at sleep.) My recent blood test show the biliribin level is 1.2 which is boarderline high (0.2-1.2) and several months ago this was 0.6. Other liver blood test were normal. Could this still be liver related problem? Anyone has any ideas?

Frankly, I did everything I could. I eat lots and lots of fibers right now. I also had this lower back pain for about 3 years. I try to follow the mystery diagnosis on discovery channel. I just wish mine is not some rare diseases.

Have you tried changing you diet? What if you AVOID dairy completely. Dairy is rough on us as we get older, I know that I get diahrea if I have any.

I don't believe it has anything to do with your liver.  Look up "microscopic colitis" on the internet.  You need a biopsy of your colon (during a colonoscopy) to diagnose it.  Your colon will look normal during the colonoscopy, but it's a disease which makes it difficult for your colon to remove the water from the waste.  Those suffering from microscopic colitis can have diahrea for years, even indefinately.  Ash your doctor about it.  I am having the same symptoms (diahrea for 7+ weeks, 3-4 times a day) and my GI doctor took a biopsy during my colonoscopy yesterday.  I'm hoping to have results soon.
