Gas for 2 years, now hives!

I am 19 year old male, skinny, I cant gain weight no matter how much I eat, Its been like this for my entire life.

Starting 2 years ago, I started to have periodical gas problem, I would burp as often as every 5 seconds for the whole day. It is voluntarily burping, I can hold it if i want to but it feels unpleasant. Theres also dull pain just under edge of the rib cage on lower left  which extends through the back. I also have uncurable acnes which never disappears. The thing to note is that when Im feeling really sick with the gas problem, acnes would also popup in bulk, they seem to be related. Small Hard stools can sometimes accompany the symptoms.

As soon as the sympton started 2 years ago, I had gastroscopy and abdomen CT scan which both turned out normal. My dr thought it is something related to reflux and put me on different kind of reflux medication non-of which solved the complication.

The gas problem tends to come and goes, however, the period that i feel sick are way longer than the period which i feel normal. I've seen several doctors and non of them seemed to be concerned or know the cause. I was sent for blood and urine test many many times which all came back normal. Blowing test normal. Abdomen ultrasound also normal. So i am running out of ideas I lived with the bloating and gas problem for 2 years.

3 Weeks ago, I decided to try the detox laxative herbs from pharmacy. I took a dose one night and the next day I had extreme fatigue, diarrhea, and hives. I took a trip to hospital and they took an x-ray indicating that im nothing but constipated. Diarhhea and fatigue lasted for about one week however the hives simply won't go away. The gas problem and abdominal pain has also become more severe ever since I took the herbs. The hives would attack day and night spawning on my arms, legs, backs and abdomen. Anti-histamine medicine does help against the hives.

I eat relatively healthy foods, whole grain in the morning, rice and alot of vegetables for lunch and dinner. I also exercise and consume large amount of fruits. I have tried probiotics and removed alcohol, carbonated drink, sweet things from my diet. I have tried eating small meals and go for a walk 10 minutes after meals. But the synptoms persist.

Does anyone have similar symptoms and can someone please help me!

Just a thought but you could also try the lactose and fructose breath tests. Both can cause terrible symptoms like excessive gas and bloating and bad stomach. Not sure where in Australia you are but I had both done and were relatively inexpensive. Fees can vary but I paid $55 per test. There is no rebate on medicare for this though. You can get a referral from your doctor but I was told at the clinic that this is not always necessary as you are paying privately. I found out I had a very high intolerance to lactose, you actually find out on the day as you see your results as it happens. Takes about 2 hours.
Good luck

Normally a stool test would detect a parasite.

I have no idea what the doctors tested me for, they generally just print out a sheet and tells me to go to the nearest pathology without really saying much. Thats why I lost all the faith in doctors here in Australia :(

Would blood tests detect parasite?

That you can't gain weight suggests parasites. But you must have been tested for that. Haven't you?

First of all stay away from herbs, they can be dangerous, as well as so called "natural" remedies.  These are not regulated by anyone and can cause serious problems when mixed with prescription drugs.  Your hives may be a lingering  side affect of the herbs, if they continue see your doctor.  I think you may have IBS which can cause bloating, gas, and constipation and or diarrhea.  Your doctor can prescribe something for this also.
You can also try taking antacids, they are made to break up the gas in your stomach and stop the nausea, and carry them with you always.  One thing I would look at are the fruits and vegetables.  As good as they are for you, many vegetables can cause excessive gas.  Fruits the same, and fruits are high in sugar which can irritate the stomach.  If you are consuming a lot of both, this can also be too much fiber and causing your constipation.  You need to play around with your diet, and see when you have the least amount of gas, and when you have the most.  Keep a written record of what you eat so you can refer to this.  Diet is often the culprit in your situation, so until you find out which foods are the worst for you, carry antacids with you and follow the directions on the package.  Hope this helps.
