For as long as I can remember I have not been able to digest fruits and vegetables properly. Processed foods, absolutely fine, however as soon as I eat, say, an orange something feels dodgy and there's usually at least SOME repercussion no matter how small (loose stalls >>>> diahrea depending on how much fruit/ veggies consumed).
I have seen doctors before about this and they simply told me to reduce my fiber intake, which I did. But it took me reducing fiber to roughly 10-15g PER DAY which leaves me absolutely no leeway for greens/ whole foods whatsoever. As someone looking to lead an active lifestyle/ take up the gym this isn't exactly ideal I'm sorry.
I tried a lot of things but nothing seemed to have any lasting effect; everything seemed so incredibly watered-down and obvious, and gave me no lasting relief. Finally out of sheer desperation I decided to take things into my own hands. I purchased these (Critical Digestion Enzymes, highest potency):
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Enzyme-Science-Critical-Digestion-Caps/dp/B0087FB2TS/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1468250470&sr=8-4&keywords=critical+digestion+enzymes
Now hear me out. I doubt many people would recommend diving right in at the highest potency. But the fact of the matter is, these digestive enzymes WORKED. I take 1-1.5 pills before meals where a lot of roughage/ fiber is to be consumed, and guess what? No more bloating. No more gas. Digestion much, much better. I'd hesitate to say it's fully 'fixed' but it is so indescribably better, you would not believe.
My question is simply this: as medical professionals, can you see any reason for 22y.o. male NOT to be on these long term- besides the price? (haven't quite crossed that bridge yet haha.) I understand they're really intended for elderly people with deteriorating systems; but I repeat, if they work, is there any reason I can't just leave it at that and move on now?
Very. very interested to hear some opinions. If needs be I'll see the GP, but NHS situation not so great here in Britain at the mo so would like to leave that as a last resort.
Have a great day,
James
