Spoiled food or virus?

Perhaps this is impossible to answer, but if 4 people in close contact with each other all ate the same food, then 1 became ill after 6 hours, 2 became ill after 32 hours and 1 didn't become ill at all, what is the most likely explanation? Thank you in advance for any pointers.

It is impossible to answer.  You could have all 3 had a viral bug, and some of your group didn't get it, or their immune systems were able to fight it off without any symptoms.  Same story with the possibility of food - some of your group members may have been able to fight off the bacterial infection without symptoms.  My husband and I have twice eaten the same food, then he got sick a few hours later, and I didn't.  Turned out some other customers at the same restaurant (in both instances) got sick, and it was determined to be the lettuce.

Thanks very much for your replies. Bit of a stupid question really, I suppose ... I typed it in-between hasty visits to the loo.
