ENLARGED BILE DUCT 13 MM

CAN U HAVE AN ERCP WHILE U STILL HAVE A GALLBLADDER?MY BILE DUCT IS 13MM AND I HAVE HAD AN ABDOMANAL ULTRASOUND,CT SCAN,HIDA SCAN,AND AN MRCP, AND ALL THEY SAW WAS THE ENLARGED BILE DUCT 13MM. MY GASTRO DOCTOR SAID THAT HE WOULD NOT DO AN ERCP UNTIL I HAD MY GALLBLADDER REMOVED. I WENT TO A GALLBLADDER SURGEON AND HE SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY GALLBLADDER AND HE WOULD NOT REMOVE IT.THIS PAIN THAT I AM HAVING HAS BEEN GOING ON NOW FOR 76 DAYS AND I HAVE LOST 37 POUNDS. WHAT DO I DO? CAN THEY NOT DO AN ERCP JUST TO TAKE A LOOK AND TRY TO FIND OUT WHY MY BILE DUCT IS SO ENLARGED?

An ERCP can be done while someone still has their gallbladder. If it is used for diagnostic purposes, it whould be coupled with manometry to check the pressures in the common bile duct or at the sphincter.

Not being a med pro...I need to ask what is an ERCP??
Another odd question...are your BM's a different color, as in very pale in color?  If so, request testing to rule out Pancreatic issues.
Good luck
