Gallstone attack

I am 99% positive that my son is experiencing gall bladder problems. He is having severe pain and he has had these attacks several times in the past 6 - 8 months. We just got insurance for him on friday and we are waiting for the approval so we can get him into a doctor. Other than the pain, can he become seriously ill or can anything happen to him while we are waiting.

Hi Pat's Mom:

How is your son doing?  Any progress on the insurance improval, a course of treatment or his symptoms?  How are you managing?  It must be so difficult for you to be watching this happen and being helpless to do anything about it.

Hang in there!

All the best,

Sam

Hi there:

I'm so sorry to hear that your son is in pain.  There are few things worse than watching a loved one suffer.  Do you have the option of taking him to the hospital?  Unfortunately, I agree with Crambone.  There are risks.  Be especially wary of infection by keeping an eye out for fever.  Anything over 101 and he should go to the hospital.  Do the attacks come and go, so he has several weeks at a time without pain?  Or has he been in pain constantly?  The pancreas is a very unforgiving organ.

I'm going to put some links at the end of this post, hopefully you can do some research and educate yourself about his condition.

God bless and good luck!

Sam
