Getting pretty concerned. Drs have no answers!

I suffer from lupus, thalassemia, two different hyper coagulation issues (both genetic), hoshimoto's, rheynaud syndrome, chronic --  and I do mean chronic constipation! It is not abnormal for me to go 13-17 days apart. I stay distended and live with my heating pad on my tummy! I've had 8 colonoscopies in the past two years. Found three polyps all at different times, were removed. All cytology comes back negative for any pathological abnormality. I take Linzess once a day (fairly new med). Still no improvement. I've had to remove impactions (thank God I went to nursing school), and no one seems concerned. I most recently passed a very large amount of well formed stool: however the stool was obviously dry, cracked, discolored and old. In all my life I've never seen anything look like this. It was almost completely covered in dark brown hair almost 1/3" long. From the beginning to the end! The stool was 17 days old. I can't get answers! That's not normal!! Help?!?!?

Thank you for your response. I have almost gotten into arguments with my Gastro bcuz everything points to motility issues. I'm sick of colonoscopies with no results. Having a bm every 13-17 days is miserable. I go nowhere and have a heating pad on my tummy 24/7 for discomfort. I have taken a snapshot of your post and will be reading it to my Gastro upon my next visit in two weeks. It's so frustrating. I mean everybody poops right??!! Not me. And it's getting very very old. As a nurse I know the toxins are harmful and am almost angry with the lack of concern with the four gastroscope I've seen in two years. I'm sick of drinking golytly and being told they found nothing. Test, test, test and find the problem is what I wanna say!!! Again, Ty so much for your response!!!!!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, were motility studies done? your symptoms could be due to slow transit constipation. Constipation has been categorized as slow transit constipation, normal transit constipation, and obstructed defecation. Slow transit constipation can be diagnosed with a complete history, physical exam, and a battery of specific diagnostic studies. Once the diagnosis is affirmed, biofeedback, sacral nerve stimulation, segmental colectomy, and subtotal colectomy with various anastomoses have all been used to treat this condition. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
