Will drinking water before urea breath test give negative result?

Had a urea breath test done yesterday but I wasn't told not to drink water. I thought I was unable to eat anything but still thought water was fine. I drink lots of water daily, up to like gallon/ gallon and a half so by the time I had taken the test I think I consumed about 2 liters.

Well, rats.  Was it much water?  You are allowed a small amount the morning of your test.  But otherwise, ugh.  You aren't supposed to drink as you know. Did you tell the test administrator about the water consumption?  They may have you do it again.

Don't feel bad.  I once ate a peanut butter sandwich before a glucose test.  I failed it. That was the shorter glucose test.  If you fail, you have to do a long one which is several hours.  I did it to myself for not reading the directions properly.  :>)  Happens to the best of us.

So, I'd tell your doctor about the water.  See if they want you to re test.

The just asked me about eating, never even asked me about water. Had drank about 2 liters by that point....lol!
Oh gosh!!  That probably explains it.  Frustrating, isn't it?

That peanut butter sandwich was not worth the second test I had to go through.  LOL
