Hemroids?

Hi, I have had IBS for sometime, inherited from my mom and also caused by anxiety.  Has anyone on here had hemroids before?  I hate getting this detailed, but I ate some food about a week ago that did not agree with me, if you know what i mean.  When i would wipe i felt a bump on my anus and it was itchy and irritated.  I took a look at it with a mirror and it looks like it could be a vien round the outside of my anus that is dark blue.  Do these typically go away with ointments?  How long should I wait to see a doctor about it? To be honest i am sick of seeing doctors and i really don't want to go in to have the doc stick his finger anywhere near that region.  I know that they are very common, does anyone know if they are more common with IBS?

Thanks,
Shawn

That's exactly what a hemorrhoid is: an engorged, enlarged vein.  Keep using the ointments, use Tucks pads to clean with after a BM, and try not to strain.  Avoiding constipation is really important.  If the problem continues, you can try a sitz bath available from any pharmacy.  Hemorrhoids are very common, but boy can they ever get your attention!  Just miserable.

Ive had hemmroids since I was pregnant with my son 13yrs ago, they are still there and NEVER bother me :)

But when they first popped out OMG the pain, I sat in a tub of warm water and cried, I thought the pain would never leave.  Tucks and preperation H works miracles.

Hope
