Hello. I had a nissen refundoplication 2 1/2 weeks ago where the surgeon for some reason decided to remove about a cubic inch of stomach as well.
Ever since, my reflux has been worse than before and I experience belching hours after every meal.
An endoscopy revealed at least 12 hours old food in my stomach.
I am afraid the surgeon may have damaged my vagus nerve. However, the surgery report says nothing of that.
I haven't thrown up yet after eating, but I feel full quickly and have nausea. Judging by the sounds my stomach makes, it begins emptying about 75 minutes after eating.
Is this just my stomach trying to get used to its new role or does this indicate gastroparesis?
