Ever heard of Duodenitis in 9 year old ?

My little girl has been sick for almost a month she was in the hospital for 4 days about 2 weeks ago with what we thought was food poisoning.  Now she has been almost ok for about a week but now she is having tummy pain and somtimes throws up again.  She had an upper GI and it said she has mild duodenitis, she has been put on prevacid for 2 weeks and if she is not 100 % better in 2 weeks he is going to investigate the gallbladder.
What do you think ??   Should I insist on checking the gallbladder NOW or  give it the 2 weeks on this med.  and see what happens ?

I am new to all of this and have no idea what to do .
THANKS
Dana

I had a duodenal ulcer when I was about 11 years old myself.  (long time ago).  The reason why I had this was due to bilary reflux.  This took a long time to figure out and I think they'd have chalked it up to psychological had I not lost around 30 pounds which when you are 11, is a huge deal.  They found the issue when I underwent an endoscopy which was the last of several GI tests I had.  Keep digging and yes, acid can be the culprit.  I'd get her in to a gastrointestinal specialist.  good luck and let us know how she does!
