If I have an ulcer, what should I do?

So for the past 3 weeks, I have been experiencing burning in my upper abdomen to the point of feeling like I am going to throw up. I end up gagging but not throwing up. It’s incredibly uncomfortable. I feel better once I eat something but sometimes after I eat, the burning comes back. And it occurs multiple times a day. I went to the doctor and they said it might be an ulcer. I am getting an endoscopy done next Thursday to see. I’ve also been told to not take any more ibuprofen and to only take Tylenol if needed. One of my other doctors a while ago told me the same thing but I couldn’t remember why, so stupid me decided to take ibuprofen again because it works better than Tylenol and I think that’s when the burning pain started. I wonder if this has been working up to this burning, meaning that all the times I sat trying to eat lunch but couldn’t because I thought it was my anxiety, could’ve been caused by the same thing that I’m dealing with now. I am currently trying to make sure I don’t eat things to trigger it and I am avoiding all alcohol. I would just like suggestions and recommendations on what to do in the meantime before I get this endoscopy done. Thanks.
