J-tube issues and pain

I have a j-tube and have been having a lot of trouble with pain at the site. I have also noticed that there is skin sticking out of the wound and I'm leaking a lot more fluid from the wound than I normally should. My surgeons said this was normal, but I'm in such terrible pain still. I don't know what to do and am terribly worried about the skin, fluid, pain...

Welcome to the gastroenterology community! How long have you had the J-tube?  Have they checked the placement of the J tube?  Do you have any granulation tissue?

Granulation tissue is relatively common with G or J tubes and it should be taked care of either by having it burned off by a doctor or there are some ointments that supposedly work.  If you've had your J-tube for that long, it shouldn't be having that many problems, so you might need a new J tube.

granulation tissue? I've looked it up online because my surgeons have never really said. I'm pretty sure that's what this is. My j-tube was placed around the 8th of July. The surgeons said that this was normal, but it's bloody,  there's nasty fluid that looks like formula that comes out of it and it hurts really bad--almost like I've had surgery. It's such a pain. I'm wondering if I shouldn't just get a new j-tube put in... Idk what to do.
