Hi everyone,
I have been lurking around this forum for a while now and I am so bad today I just need a bit of advice and reassurance.
My problems started 7 months ago with a blocked ear (completely deaf in one ear for 2 months and the doctor wasn’t fussed), CHRONIC sore throat - sometimes I can’t swallow without water and my I wake up with my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth, severe breathing problems (sometimes I feel like my stomach doesnt move so my breathing becomes forced), I have lost 2 and a half stone, the low acid diets do not work at all - I lived off of plain chicken and vegetables for 6 months (I get breathing problems from celery), I cannot sleep more than an hour a night (the pillows make no difference - I gasp awake all night, several times an hour), I have recently adopted the Fast Track Diet and it has made no difference so far. The only thing that is helping me cope is Wine. Now I understand how bad this is for me, but I have been up the A&E 3 times this month, I’ve been to the doctors 8 times. I keep being told it’s all in my head.
I have finally managed to convince my doctor I need to see a Gastroenterologist - I have a month to wait and I’m not sure I can wait this long. My throat taste like burning and salt every second of the day. I get no relief.
I have been tested for H-Pylori and had chest  X-Rays - all negative, including blood tests for anemia.
Anyone that has ANYTHING positive to say - surgery success, diet success ANYTHING. Because right now, I’m ready to lie in front of a truck. I’m in class, trying to concentrate with my tongue and throat swelling and sore. I’m in a complete state.
Apple Cider Vinegar doesn’t work, bicarb doesn’t work, Rennes don’t work, gaviscon makes it worse, PPIs did nothing but give me tinnitus. I understand it’s a valve problem but I thought a diet plan would help keep the worst at bay. If anything, it seems to be making it worse.
Has anyone beaten this? I have had acupuncture, Reiki, Craniosacral therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, I’ve seen a nutritionist, a herbalist - I’ve taken camomile, Swedish bitters, slippery elm, magnesium etc etc.
I need some advice to keep going because I’m terrified that I’ll stop breathing or my throat is going to swell up so badly, that I’ll drop dead.
I have not have an official diagnosis as the doctors do not take me seriously, so I am desperate for this gastroenterologist appointment in order to get a diagnosis but in the meantime - I feel like I’m on deaths door.

If you have chronic sore throat and an issue with immflamation, reducing pain and swelling (immflamation) would make sense and that is what ibuprofen does.  I'd try it personally and see if it helps.  It very much sounds allergic to me so ya, try benedryl (take it at night as it might make you sleepy) and antihistamines to see if you can get a positive response!  Let me know!

What about benedryl?  An antihistamine?  I'd try that.  The wine won't help. And will give you a whole host of other problems so I'd stop self medicating with that sweetie.  It is going to compound your problems.  Plus it is a depressant and if you are already anxious, feel blue and depressed about this situation, it will just make that worse.  So, that's my 2 cents on the wine for comfort care.

Try an allergy medication to see if it has any benefit.  Ibuprofen work for reducing inflammation?

I appreciate the response, I heard that ibuprofen makes this worse - but I’ll certainly look into an antihistamine. Thank you for your reply. And you’re totally right on the wine.
