Mucus in stool

I was diagnosed with IBS about 7 years ago. I have a combination. The past month or so I have noticed mucus in my stool. I've noticed it in the past every now and then but its been allot lately. Not everyday, but 4 or 5 days out of the week. It is usually clear or yellow. I haven't noticed any blood in a long time. I do have some pain off an on...its in my left lower abdomen. Any ideas?

Do they feel this has anything to do with the IBS as I think this is a symptom of that?  I had mucus in my stool but had had a long usage of antibiotics for a tooth issue.  It really caused my GI track to go haywire all of a sudden.  Probiotics and the usage of prebiotics really helped me.  Do you use these at all?

I went to my GI doctor. He thinks its from my IBS. I don't take any antibiotics. And yes I take probiotics, not everyday but every other. Thanks for the feedback!
