Nausea and Diarrhea after eating for a year

I've had ultrasounds bloodwork and an upper GI done. Allof the tests have been inconclusive. I took Nexium for quite a while but it didn't help. I took Align and metamucil which also did nothing. I'm an 18 year old otherwise healthy female and until last year i had no previous major digestive issues. I'm running out of options. I know it is not Crohn's or my gall bladder. My symptoms match those of Crohn's disease. Nausea and diarrhea almost immediately after i eat pain in the middle right side of my abdomen and a recently developed lactose intolerance. Everything i eat does this. Sometimes even water causes it. No ulcers were found in the Upper GI and my bloodwork came back normal. What could i possobly have? Its been a year and i keep getting sicker. Help?

Thanks for the advice, so far I've tried taking almost everything but salad and assorted fruits and vegetables out of my diet. I've tried organic and it helps a bit but I'm going to the doctor's again on the 5th and they're probably going to run some other tests. I've heard it could be my thyroid too. I'll take your advice and go on an organoc vegetarian diet for a few weeks to see if it helps. Thank you again.

If you have been tested for everything and everything seems to be 'normal,' consider giving diet exclusion a try. I know it may sound strange, but even if people are tested for issues like celiac disease - which you would think would be easy to track down - it's not. It can take up to 10 years for a true diagnosis because the markers of something like a gluten problem or a casein intolerance don't show up early.

One of the bigger and growing problems these days is gluten-sensitivity. It's not a fad, it's a true medical problem. It and other food intolerance can produce the symptoms you're describing. In addition, 50% of those with gluten issues cross-react to the major protein in dairy - casein - and it can be looked at as a lactose issue, which it's not.

If you think you've got a lactose problem, take ALL dairy out of your diet and see if it helps even a little bit. You might also want to consider trying to eliminate all gluten (wheat, rye and barley) for a couple of weeks and see how you feel. It won't change things immediately, but if you see small changes keep it up.
