I agree. My family has many people who have had their gallbladder removed all of which now have constant diahrrea. I myself had mine out at 15 which was 17 years ago and have suffered from it since. I daily take ImmodiumAD pills just to control it.

My son had his gallbladder removed and a couple of weeks out started having diarrhea and sometimes throwing up.  Taking him to a gastro doctor who did a scope found esophagus irritated from throwing up and a small place on his small intestine that he said not to worry about?  doh---he still has diarrhea and sometimes accompanied with blood.  What the heck---noone can figure out what is wrong with him.

Many people experience diarrhea after gallbladder removal. In some cases it's due to not processing fats as well as they did before the surgery. Following a low fat diet may be of help. In other cases it can be due to the unregulated release of bile from the common bile duct. Bile is an intestinal irritant. In larger than 'normal' amounts, or when it's released in an uncoordinated manner (as can happen after GB surgery), it can cause fast transit though the GI tract and cause diarrhea.

The yellow color is due to the 'fast' transit of food stuffs through the GI tract. When bile is released it's a yellow-green color. As it's acted on by digestive enzymes and other processes as it passes through the tract, it turn to the 'brown' we all recognize in a normal bowel movement. Since it's moving through faster, it doesn't have time to turn brown. It remains yellow and the fecal material isn't acted on in the normal manner - water isn't reabsorbed into the body, so the material remains loose and watery.

From what I've read/heard from friends that have had theirs removed is that diarrhea is normal.  Without the gallbladder your body doesn't process fatty foods as well which can lead to diarrehea.  As for thte discoloration, I do not know if that is normal.  Maybe keep a food diary to try to determine if something in particular is causing it that you can avoid.
