Pancreatitis can be chronic meaning it does not go away or acute meaning it stays for a few days and leaves. You can be chronic and have flares of AP. Chronic patients must take enzymes to help digest their food. They often have oily stools that float. Did they tell you that you have CP? If so you should try to figure out the cause. Some get it from high tryglicerides, cystitc fibrosis, drinking genetics or just idiopathic ( no cause).
