Pancreatic Cyst and Blood Tests

Very worried about my friend who is scheduled for an abdominal MRI and also an endoscopy this week.  She has had reflux issues for several months, has lost weight over the last six months but has changed her eating habits to very healthy ones plus has upped her exercise regimen.  She does feel "full' and a bit nauseous sometimes but not always.  Does better with small meals.  An abdominal CAT scan found a solid round "component" on the pancreas head and a polyp on the gall bladder.  The blood test showed a normal CEA but a bit elevated CA 9-19.  My question is, is there hope that this may NOT be cancer?  Also, can you surgically remove a pancreatic cyst and leave the rest of the pancreas intact?
