Pancreatitis and GERD link?

I had severe case of acute pancreatitis this past spring. (Docs have no idea what caused it.) My digestion has changed in a strange way. If I get too hungry or wait too long between meals, sometimes my epigastric center will hurt. It stops immediately if I eat (not drink). Anything. I'm assuming this is some sort of GERD. Never, ever had any kind of GERD issues or digestives. before. Of note, I do have a "low functioning" gallbladder.

Is there a link between the pancreatitis and GERD? Advice?

The gallbladder didn't cause the pancreatitis but the pancreatitis DID damage the gallbladder. Hmm...

Pancreatic issues can often be tied into a mal-functioning gallbladder. The presence of sludge/stones that can be expelled from the GB, enter the common bile duct and irritate that structure can result in spasms and/or blockages that impact the junction of the common bile duct/pancreatic duct and result in pancreatitis.

Further, cases of gallbladder issues and GERD can produce similar symptoms.

You may want to return to your doctor and discuss the issue.
