Reason for rectal pain

Have had rectal pain for 2 months, thought it was hemorrhoids, GI and family doctors said it wasn't and didn't know what it was from for sure.  Said to see a pain management doctor thinking it is a nerve in my recturm?  However, I am confused as to what the pain management dr would do since no definite diagnosis.  I tried everything over the counter including lidocaine with no relief.  The pain is constant and only relief is when I sleep.  Worried!!!

Hello,
I am new here and hope you found some kind of help.
The main reason you were sent to a Pain Management Dr. was because  GI doctor does not have Insurance that allows him to prescribe some Pain Meds.
I also have this problem you need to see a colorectal surgeon "A good one". Please let me know if your still having this issue.
