Repeated vomiting in a 80-year male with no other apparent symptoms

What would cause repeated vomiting in a 80-year male with a conservative lifestyle, but with no other apparent symptoms?
His diet is careful, home-cooked, healthy. Very little heavily diluted alcohol a few times a month.
Nausea, vomiting, some sweating.
Otherwise in fair health - able to talk, smile and sit up.

He's been admitted to a hospital and put on a drip, while blood work is being done.
Anything else to do or look for?
