Stomach and Intestinal problems

I have been having stomach and intestinal problems since Aug of 07 and myself and my doctors cannot figure out the problem.  I've had an upper and lower GI test done and results came back good.  What it is is that no matter what I eat my stomach gets a little upset and I always feel the need to have to go to the bathroom and sometimes out of no where i get nautious, lightheaded, and a hotflash feeling through my entire body.  I've been tested for celiac disease, that came back negative, I've tried a lactose free diet, that didn't work, and I've had pretty much every blood test out there and a stool test and still we cant figure it out.  We thought it could be IBS though medicines for IBS do not work.  If anyone can give me any feedback I would really appriciate it.

MVP is a relatively minor heart condition and MVP Syndrome has a lot of the symptoms that are being discussed here - as does another condition known as Dysautonomia. However, after seeing my primary doc this afternoon, he indicated both MVP Syndrome and Dysautonomia were not popularly accepted within the medical community anymore. So, great, there goes that idea.

I may not be any closer to finding out what is going on with me, symptom wise, but unfortunately I did find out today I have multiple gallstones. The doc said he didn't think there was a need to remove the gallbladder at this point. I do not know if these stones have anything to do with my symptoms, bit I'll be focusing on eating a low fat diet and staying away from sugar and carbs. I will also be trying to exercise more. So far that's all I have to go with until further notice. Sorry, not much help :(

Thanks for the reply. One question to you and/or anyone else having these problems:

Does anyone have Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP)? I do, and I just found out about something called MVP Syndrome which has all the symptoms I reported in my first post. I still have to see a cardiologist tomorrow about issues with my MVP, and then my primary doc should be getting the results of the other tests sometime next week. I'll be happy to report any findings here if anyone is interested.

Not sure if this will help or not, but if youre like me. You are at the point where you are willing to try anything.

I too have suffered with stomach/upper gi problems for quite sometime now. I have had an endoscopy and many other tests done testing the acidity in my stomach. This was back 6 years ago and the results were negative. The doctors still have no clue what causes my stomach discomfort.

The sensations that I experience are similar to acid reflux and gastritis. I rarely get TRUE reflux or heartburn but have other symptoms associated with gastritis such as burning sensations that radiate through my back, stomach bloat which is sometimes relieved by patting my belly, stomach spasms at times, discomfort in my abdomen and under my left ribcage.

When I do get true heartburn into my throat, I drink a tablespoon or two of Apple Cider Vinegar which relieves the pain. I also drink Aloe Vera juice daily. A while back the aloe seemed to have cured my problems but I quit taking it and shortly after the symptoms came back and havent gone away since.

There are days that I feel much better and other times I dont want to leave my house. Im hoping that eventually the aloe will cure me like it did previously but for now, I continue to wonder what the true root of my problem is.

Basically I'm having the exact same symptons you are.  If you find anything out please let me know.  I have gotten a little better but deffinetly nowhere near good.

some info that may help...a friend suggested it might be psychological and honestly im open to any and all suggestions.  I looked into mindbody medicine.  There is a book published in 2007 by Dr. John Sarno.  I think its called the divided mind.  It talks about people similar to us with the same symptons and how it is an unconcious thought that is causing this with help from stress and anxiety.  since i've been reading it and understanding it i have started to feel alot better.  just a suggestion but if your in the same boat as me i think it'll be worth looking into.

Similar situation here.

Starting Jan '08. - loose stools for three months. Doc said I needed probiotics to offset possible antibiotic reaction. Since then (mid March) pretty much constant pain in lower GI, bloating. Blood test / stool test / urinalysis for prostate, celiac, infection, anemia, all results normal. Then a week ago - nausea, lightheaded, hotflash feeling. Went to urgent care. Blood test, blood pressure, and urinalysis normal. Just had two hour glucose tolerance test, no results yet. Ultrasound of the lower GI and echocardiogram scheduled for tomorrow. Will follow up with the doc in one week from today.

The lightheadedness comes and goes in intensity, but is almost always there, with headache from time to time. I've lost about five or so pounds from limiting my food intake, yet after I eat my stomach feels like I have a bowling ball in it.

I'm wondering if there is any correlation to the lower GI and the lightheadedness.

I live in the SW part of the US

Same here, I have stomach pain and discomfort, losse stools that recenltly have become normal. The pain is always there but fluctuates throughout the day. My endoscopy and colonoscopy were all normal. I am getting a stool test soon. I am not sure what to do and my doctor just says to wait it out and it will go away. My pain has been for about 2 months.
