Symptoms with Fatty Liver?

What does anyone have? Read various message boards on web and range from nothing to symptoms close to what cirrhosis would be?

Just curious what anyone's experiencing?

Yes, will post or send you the results.

I could stand to lose 15-20 pounds, although I think much of it is fluid.

I also have read various stories of people who have more significant symptoms with fatty liver and have had for many years after quitting drinking.

The right sid pain I think is commonly when the liver is enlarged it presses on the pockets surrounding it causing this discomfort/pain.

Well, they say that only a liver biopsy will tell you for sure. As the post says above, maybe it is your gallbladder?  I would think the ultrasound would catch cirrhosis, plus your bloodwork has remained normal.
Fatty liver is a strange thing - doctors say there are very few symptoms, but after looking around the internet for months, I've found a lot of people who complain of rightsided pain in conjunction.  Although many sites say it will leave a few weeks after staying away from alcohol, I've recently found (with some specific questions to doctors) that it takes years to reverse itself if you were a drinker for years.
I do get some symptoms that mirror cirrhosis, but they go away and do not seem to worsen.  They do come back if I drink so much as two beers.  I'm trying to learn more about this- can you tell me the results of your MRI? You can post them or send a private message if you wish. I'm due for an ultrasound in June or July.  This will be a followup to a CT scan that showed the same thing (fatty liver, but otherwise normal).
I forgot to ask you one thiing - are you overwieght? If so, this could play into it with the existing fatty liver.

hi my dad had chirrosis of the liver, after years of drinking?? he never suffered pain with it? he passed in 01', from oesoephacal and secondary bowel cancer.

I had my gall bladder removed 12 yrs ago, a stone passed thru the bile duct?? wow did that hurt, I would rather have triplets!!! they think i have this stone stuck somewhere?? in my caecum I think? this has been going on and on!!! we had a car crash, nov 05' now i have a disc pressing on my spinal canal? bilateral sciatica, down back of left leg to knee?? also my right leg, front to knee, behind my knees kill, ive osteoarthritis, a collapsed pelvis, with prolapsed bladder and bowel, with permanent, cystitus symptoms,   but I have been told this could be tenesmus??

I drank alot, binge drinking culture, is so dangerous, in uk a prof, has urged the government to put a limit on units per week, for aged under 25!! I think its a great idea, I have suffered terribly. in a memory test of 2 brains, the person that drank,,memory was 80% worse in the exam result!! those results are astounding as the damage to the right frontal coretex pof the brain gets damaged.
PLEASE STOP BINGE DRINKING all  WOMEN ESPECIALLY?????
this week my 18 yr old daughter, who only drinks rare occasions, is a vegan, has bn diagnosed with shadows on her gall bladder, the pain is awful, im praying diet will help her, this disease was assossiated with, 'fat, fair n forty!!! I had my gall bladder removed at 26??? sz10 (uk) my life has revolved around incompetant drs, my pain n discomfort revovlves around if n what I eat??? it can still be in my mouth, halfway thru my meal, when I have to run to the loo, in one end straight out the other!!! then on times I cant go for weeks at a time, its awful.

To me it sounds as if you may have Gallstones or a diseased gall bladder???? Drs told me all of my tests were normal, yet? they could not find whats caused the pain, eventually, they said my gallbladder was diseased, i waited 18mnths for the op!! the bowel problems i had prior to this is so exacecerbated now i dont go out as i never know when it will happen??

Was your's caused by drinking? If so, did you quit and when did you stop?  I had pain and symptoms for about 8 weeks past my last drink.  When I started to feel really good, I tried drinking a small quantity of beer - NO GOOD. The pain came back the next day.  It also went away in only a day (since I wasn't drinking regularly.

I still get pains, discomfort in the liver area and have slight ankle swelling. So far multiple labs and ultrasound show fatty liver only.

Going for a MRI on Tuesday.

When I first sought medical help, I was feeling a pain in my right side (right under the rib cage). My blood tests were actually normal (at the time I was several weeks sober).  When the pain persisted, they did a CT Scan and found fattly infiltration of liver.
At this point, I feel fine if I don't drink. If I do, I get a pain pretty quickly.  The longer I stay off alcohol, the better I feel.
Before I stopped drinking though, I had some symptoms that seemed more serious (red palms, red face, tingling feet occasionally).  All that has gone away at this point.
Why, what are you experiencing?
