Hi, I have been suffering for years with throat (related) problems and really want to find a cure as it is having such a negative effect of my life.
I have the following symptoms:
1) Thick mucus / phlegm in my throat all the time - have to spit all the time, it's usually white in colour
2) Problems swallowing, often get things stuck in my throat
3) Real problems with sugar - things like ice cream are really bad even cola. If I drink cola the next time I need to spit it often comes out brown. It's almost like things with sugar end up coating my throat.
4) It could be unrelated but occasionally have bouts of hyper-somnia - sometimes sleep up to 16 hours a day, just cannot seem to wake up / stay awake. It's not consistent is comes and goes, but I feel tired and sleep way than average.
Originally I was prescribed asthma inhalers which made no difference. I was then prescribed a nasal spray which made no difference. Right now I am taking lansoprazole 15mg tablets (1 day) which is essentially for acid reflux. I was on a higher dosage at one point. It does seem to make a slight difference but it's still nowhere near "normal".
Does anyone have any idea what my condition could be? I would very grateful for any advice - like I say, it's had such a negative effect on my life for years now.
