Pain under sternum

Hello. I have now gone on a couple of months of pain under my sternum. It started when I lifted something heavy and my back was hurt badly. after a couple of weeks, my stomach feels like it's always empty. it is weird. it also feels like it's full. it's hard to explain. when I push in under my sternum, I get a sharp pain, but when I don't, my stomach does not hurt, it just feels weird. I'm not even sure if its my stomach. if someone can help me answer this question, I would appreciate it. I am nervous it is going to be bad if I don't get checked. if you could tell me what it is I would appreciate it. would you say that I am unhealthy, or just have a problem that I need to get checked. please be descriptive. once again, thank you.

Did you ever get an answer on this? I've had a similar pain under my sternum for a few days now.
