Why do I have severe abdominal distention after I eat and floating stools?

Hi

For as long as I can remember I have suffered from floating sticky stools and severe abdominal distention after I eat (I am 26 now). Most of the distention dies down the next morning, only to start again.

I suffer from no other digestive symptoms such as pain, gas, diarrhoea or constipation and I go to the toilet once daily, so no issues there.

I am a healthy vegan and am gluten free and mostly nut free. I am not coeliac though. I also had my stool tested with the gastro for inflammation and there were no issues there, which is strange as they float, possibly fat Malabsorption? I do have autoimmune diseases. I have an underactive Thyroid, severe acne and arthritis. I also now take a number of daily supplements to ensure I am getting all the nutrients I need.

I am really at a loss here and it is affecting my quality of life. Any insight would be greatly appreciated or even if anyone can recommend a gastro or homeopath in London that I can see, that would also be very helpful.

I thank you in advance :)

Michela
