I’m 20 and my bowels completely changed when I started my sophomore year last August. Growing up I ate very healthy because my parents are both fitness buffs. I used to get stomach aches a lot but for some reason not anymore. All of a sudden last year I started having diarrhea that got me out of bed every morning. Went to a gastro. Who only told me to eat a better diet, which I did. And nothing changed. This went on and I started taking probiotics and fiber supplements in January which did nothing as well. I went to a different doctor who recommended a low fod map diet and prescribed me Diphenoxylate-atrop which only decreased the amount of bowel movements i had. In addition to the probiotics and fiber, i now take Krill Oil, L-Glutamine, Magnesium, pepsin and butters, slippery elm, multivitamins, and Vitamin B supplements (Active B Complex). I also work out every day. Now I don’t get bad diarrhea unless I eat dairy, soda, high sugar sweets, and spicy foods. But my stool is still bulky and very soft (almost powdery in a way because it turns to powder when I flush) and I see bits of food in it. Throughout the day I am also accompanied by frequent chills and pins and needles all over my body. I can eat and eat and eat but not put on any weight. What could be wrong with me? I don’t drink alcohol but I do smoke marijuana because It helps with my depression and anxiety, not to mention the uncomfy feeling after a bowel movement. My diet now consists of gluten free grains, lots of fruits and veggies, and protein.
