Yellow stool - no other symptoms

I have Ulcerative colitis (for 21 years) acid reflux, Diverticular disease and IBS. I've been on Remicade for 1 1/2 years and Colazal for 6 years to control my UC and Prilosec for my acid reflux. In the past I would have sporadic bouts of acidic yellow/green diarrhea but it never last long nor did I have any unusual symptoms associated with it. I've mentioned it to my GI but he never said much about it. I even had solid black stool for 2 weeks in which my GI promptly sent me in for a blood test but everything was fine. He also increased my Prilosec to twice a day because I was having left sided stomach pain and burning. I'm now back down to 1 Prilosec a day and my black stool resolved itself and the pain went away.

But, for the past month my stool has been yellowish in color but other than slight nausea I have no other symptoms. My last blood test showed everything to be in the normal range. My diet hasn't changed.

I know you will say go see my GI but what I'm looking for is if anyone else has had yellow stool with no other symptoms and what was it?

Btw, my UC is in remission.

Hi there!

Yellow stools without any other symptoms or abnormality such as yellowish discolouration or urine/ skin is unlikely  to be of clinical significance and should not be anything to worry about unless accompanied with other symptoms such as constipation/ diarrhoea, red/ black discolouration of stools etc.
Hope the information is helpful.

Take care!
